Application circuit of Schottky diode

The application of Schottky diodes in stepper motor drive circuits is a typical application circuit of Schottky diodes.

Schottky diodes are mainly used in circuits due to their low voltage drop and short recovery time. As a result, most of the current flows through the external Schottky diode, which greatly reduces the power consumption inside the integrated circuit Al, improves thermal stability, and enhances reliability.

Schottky diode is a low-power, high current, and ultra high speed semiconductor device that has emerged in recent years. Its reverse recovery time is extremely short (can be as small as a few nanoseconds), with a forward conduction voltage drop of only about 0.4V, while the rectified current can reach several thousand milliamps. These excellent features are incomparable to fast recovery diodes. Most medium and low-power Schottky rectifier diodes are packaged.
